The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit would be more than enough for your 2004 Honda Pilot and 2006 Chevy Avalanche. For your Pilot I recommend using part # D13503 which is 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep and for your Avalanche I recommend using part # D13504 which is slightly larger at 11" wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep.
Either of these options will work well for you and provide your vehicle with adequate transmission fluid cooling. However, in order to install a transmission cooler on your Avalanche, you are going to need an adapter part # D13035. You will not need an adapter to install a transmission cooler on your Pilot.
I have attached an install video of each cooler for you on similar models.
