Compatibility When Moving Up One Load Range On Boat Trailer
Question:
can you go from load range c to load range d on boat trailer ?

Expert Reply:
You can move from a load range C to a load range D tire on a boat trailer or any other trailer without concern. This will increase the ply rating of your tire and may slightly increase the trailer's capacity if the tires were the weakest component in the system.
When changing tires, you will want to pay attention to the tire size and make sure you are only moving one level from the manufacturer's rating or you may get a rigid ride and even wheel hop.
I've attached a help article with common questions about tires and wheels to assist.
