There are a few possible reasons as to why the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195 in your Chevy Colorado is not detecting a trailer connection, but it should not be related to the initial setup you went through on the P3's monitor.
I first recommend checking both the truck side and trailer side connectors for any dirt, debris, or corrosion that might be built-up inside the pins. This can prevent a secure connection between the two so that the brake controller is not sensing a power draw. You will want to clean the connectors out as needed.
If the connectors look good, then I recommend checking the main ground for the trailer connector and the grounds for each brake magnet on the trailer's brake assemblies. They should be attached to clean, bare metal surfaces on the trailer frame. Also check that the power wires for the magnets are in good condition.
If you are still having issues, please let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.
