How Well Does the Yakima HangOut Bike Rack Fit a 2010 Volkswagen Eos

Question:

How well does this Y02637 work on a 2010 VW Eos hard top convertible? Obviously it cant be in use when the top is being put up or down but Im curious if there have been others who have used it on the Eos.

Provided that you install the Yakima HangOut bike rack # Y02637 according to the specific instructions for the 2010 Volkswagen Eos the rack will fit and perform quite well. I do not have any specific anecdotal evidence for the Eos though. Yakima has the following fit notes for this rack and vehicle combination:

1) Place the upper strap hooks at the top edge of trunk, hatch lid, or rear door.
2) Outer/lower support frame rests on the trunk lip, hatch lid, or rear door below emblem or name plate.
3) Place the lower strap hooks at the bottom edge of the trunk, hatch lid, or rear door.
4) Side strap hooks to back side edge of trunk, hatch, or rear door below tail lights.
5) Yakima trunk mounted racks weight limit for 2 bikes is 60 lbs. / 3 bikes is 90 lbs.
6) For this vehicle; Yakima Halfback, Fullback, and Hangout products require that the upper hooks must be changed and installed in anchor mode. See instructions for anchor mode implementation.
7) The headliner and or trunk liner on this vehicle may deform or be damaged under prolonged contact with this rack in anchor mode. Yakima Halfback, Fullback, and Hangout products require this rack installed in anchor mode.
