Question:
I want to use 2gauge jumper cables a distance of about 16 ft connecting 2 six volt batteriescombined = 12 volt to a 12 volt battery—giving me more 12 volt availability—is the 2 gauge cables adequate?

We have the Bulldog Winch Booster Cable Set part # BDW20197 which is a 2 guage wire setup that's 20 feet in length. You could cut them down to 16 feet as needed. This would work well for wiring two 6 gauge batteries in series.
These are 2,000 amp rated so they'd do a great job handling your amperage requirements.
