Recommended Swagman Bike Rack for Two 35 Lb Bikes

Question:

Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4inch and 2inch Trailer Hitches Both of my bikes weigh approx. 35 lbs each. I see the max is 70 lbs. I like this rack and wonder if this is ok??

As long as neither one of your bikes exceed 35 lbs then yes, you can use the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack part # S64670. However, since you will be at the max capacity of this bike rack, that does not leave any margin for error and the components will likely wear out quicker. With that being said, I recommend the slightly less cost effective option in the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack part # S64683. This bike rack has a 45 lb per bike weight capacity and will last much longer with two 35 lb bikes than the XTC-2 will. It also has an anti-rattle locking hitch pin whereas the XTC-2 only has an anti-rattle hitch pin.
