RV Porch Light With Mounting Hole Dimensions 5-1/4 Inch Apart
Question:
Porch light for a 2001 Forest River Cherokee 31foot Travel Trailer. The ones I see on line have holes 4inch apart, but the old one has holes 5 1/4inch apart. Is redrilling the holes for the new light the only option? Size over all matches, just not the screw holes across. Vertical is good at 1 1/8.

I checked all of the porch lights that we have, and if you need holes 5-1/4" apart, re-drilling may be the best option because we don't carry any lights with 5-1/4" between the holes. It is not uncommon for trailer light manufacturers to discontinue models after only a few years. So for a trailer manufactured in 2001 there is a good chance that the exact replacements aren't available anymore. The base of # RVPL1C is going to cover up the old mounting holes and as long as you sealed the base to the side of the trailer, you won't have to worry about water or insects getting in through the old holes.
I also found lights with mounting hole dimension center to center of 4-3/4" # 328-K-0054B, # 328-007-61W, and # 328-K-0054BS.
