Installing the Chain Hangers for the Reese # RP66542 Weight Distribution

How far back do I bolt on the brackets ? Is there measurement ? I just need a number

Expert Reply:
Typically a Weight Distribution (WD) system will recommend that the brackets for the chain hangers be installed somewhere between 26" - 30" from the hitch ball. Although the instructions for the Reese # RP says differently you can take a guess since the bars are 31-1/4" long.
I do recommend setting up the head and the arms first and then using them to determine the placement of the chain hangers. These guidelines can be found on page 3 of the instructions.
