Smaller Roof Cargo Box Recommendation for 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon and 179 cm Skis

Question:

I want to get a rooftop cargo box for a Subaru Outback Touring 2018 with Yakima Jet stream crossbars small, 50. I want to be able to mostly haul camping gear, and occasionally up to 179cm Skies/Snowboards. Okay, thats the easy part. I typically use a 2-Bike class III hitch carrier however, we occasionally need to carry up to 4 bikes. Weight limits aside, how wide of a cargo box can I get that meets the above requirements and still fit up to two bikes on the crossbars next to it? I was looking at the Yakima Skybox 12, but it may be a bit longer than needed, which boxes do you recommend?

For a smaller cargo box that will fit your 179 cm skis the Yakima Skybox part # Y07334 that you referenced is your best option. It has an outside width of 24 inches too which is about as narrow as you are going to get to allow you room for your roof bike racks. This box would be your best option.
