What is Typical Pin Weight of Fifth Wheel Trailer Relative to Total Trailer Weight
Question:
I have a goose neck trailer - reworking to accept a 5th wheel pin box.. How much weight should be on 5th wheel hitch when running mt?? It has 7000lb axles and brakes. pulling with a 2010 GMC hd 3/4 ton 4x4 Tires are going to be ST205/75R15 load range D- on 6 stud rims

Typically the pin weight on a fifth wheel hitch is the same as for a gooseneck trailer and is right at 20 percent of the total trailer weight.
I attached a link to a page that has all of the pin boxes we carry but most likely you'll need to do something totally custom.
