Recommended Wiring Connection Adapter for Jeep 4-Pin to Trailer 7-Pin

Question:

I have a boat trailer that has a 7 pin but the trailer doesnt have elect brakes. The jeep has 4 pin. The product that yau recommended plugs into the jeeps 4 pin but still has wires that go to the battery, a griund and other wures for something...All i want is to go from 4 pin to seven ROUND PLUG Thanks

If all you want to do is go from the 4-way trailer connector to the 7-way without adding functions, all you need to do is use an adapter like # 30717. You will simply plug in the 4-way and then connect the white ground wire with ring terminal to your vehicle frame. The ground needs a bare metal to metal connection free of debris and corrosion.

The other three wires on the adapter can be left disconnected. The only thing to double check since you have a boat trailer is that you don't have an electric reverse solenoid on a surge brake coupler. If you don't have this, then you are all set. If you do have this, then you will connect the yellow wire to the reverse light power wire behind your vehicle tail light to capture that signal for that solenoid to function.
