The mounting brackets on the Inno Clamp On Kayak Lifter Load Assist # INA453 fit on many crossbar shapes and sizes up to a maximum size of 3-1/2 x 1-1/8-inches; please see the linked photo. The roof rack crossbars also need to be spaced apart between 27 and 39 inches to ensure a stable foundation for your kayak.
In terms of how much exposed crossbar you need for the carrier's mounting hardware, I measured the Inno mounting bracket and found it is 1-1/8-inches wide, so you would really want at least 2-inches of exposed crossbar on the outside of the rack foot.
