How Many Friction Sway Control Arms are Needed for a 6,000 Pound Trailer

Question:

Have 1500 RAM with Huskey trunnion WD hitch with 500-800lb bars , to pull a 22 24 6 ball to bumper 6000GVW Travel trailer w/ tongue wt of 445, likely 650 loaded . Will one of the friction sway controls be adequate for my needs?

At 6,000 pounds and higher you should use 2 friction style sway control arms. The most popular arm is the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit, # 83660. Each one of these comes with all of the parts needed for installation. It can be turned over to be used on the left or right side so you will be able to use 2 of them.
