Wiring and Brake Controller for 2018 Toyota Highlander with Factory Tow Package

I have a 2018 Toyota Highlander with factory tow package 4-pin wiring connector. I am looking for a 7-pin harness and brake controller for this vehicle. Are there any options for the 7-pin connector with the factory tow package?

For your 2018 Toyota Highlander with factory tow package I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. This is a proportional controller that will apply your trailer brakes at the same time and with the same amount of pressure as you hit the brake pedal in your Highlander.

You will use your factory 4-way and then use the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This will give you the wiring, 7-way adapter, circuit breakers and connectors needed to install your brake controller.

This combination will give you an excellent system to tow a trailer with electric or electric over hydraulic brakes.
