Ladder Rack Recommendations for a 2009 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab with Utili-Track System & Roof Rack

Question:

Ive got a 2009 Nissan Frontier Crew cab and want to put on a ladder rack. I like the TA27000-01 but have two questions. 1. will lumber on it sit above the factory rack that is over my cab now? 2. will installation interfere with the utilitrac system that is under the bed rail? I see it on a truck like mine and the user said the modified the utilitrac a bit but I dont know what they did. I didnt like the Ericson because the mounting hardware is shown sticking up above the bed rail, which I think would be a hazard.

With ladder rack # TH27000XT-EX for your 2009 Nissan Frontier the top of the crossbars are 26-1/4 inches above the tops of the bed sides. You can measure on your truck from the bed sides up 26-1/4 inches to determine how tall it will be relative to your factory roof rack.

If your truck has the Utili-Track system then this ladder rack is not compatible unless that track system is removed.

The Erickson ladder rack # EM07705 does have some hardware that will stick up above the tops of the bed sides but I wouldn't say it is a hazard assuming that you have it installed and tightened down properly. This rack is also taller at 29 inches.
