Rooftop Cargo Box Recommendation for 2018 Chevy Traverse

Question:

Just got a 2018 Chev Traverse. what Thule enclosed cargo carrier and/or cargo cage would you recommend? It would be use for only two adventurous adults no children and pets.

For a pair of adventurous adults with a 2018 Chevy Traverse I recommend the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629706. This box offers a range of what I like to call quality-of-life features; it has a lid which opens on both sides, is aerodynamic to reduce the amount of wind noise, locks automatically when the lid is fully closed, and clamps easily to your roof rack with what are called PowerClick clamps so you only need to turn the dials until you hear a click, which lets you know the box is secure to your roof.

The Motion XT gives you 16 cubic feet of storage capacity and measures 77" long x 36" wide x 17" tall. To determine if you will be able to open the rear hatch of your Traverse with the box on you only need to measure from the middle of your front crossbar to the seam of your car where the hatch opens. If that measurement is at least 47-1/2" you will be able to open your hatch with the box on, as you can see by the accompanying diagram.
