Cargo Carrier Recommendation for 2014 Honda Accord with Trailer Hitch Installed
Question:
Hello, Going on a camping trip and I needed a cargo carrier for my 2014 Honda Accord. I currently have the CURT 11681 Class 1 Trailer Hitch. I was hoping to be able to put my rather large cooler on the cargo carrier as it will not fit in the trunk. I was wondering what cargo carrier you would recommend. I am currently stuck between the Curt 18145 and the Curt 18110. I like the 18145 because of the added depth however I am scared that the exhaust will damage the cooler since the extension is straight. The 18100 has a raised extension which hopefully should help with any exhaust damage, however the actual carrier has a depth of only 2.5 inches which causes me to fear that it would not hold the cooler safely while driving through the mountains. Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

There are only a few cargo carrier options for a Class I hitch like the part # C11681 that you have installed on your 2014 Honda Accord. None of them have a rise in the shank though. I'd go with the Curt # C18110 though since it has a raised portion in the back of the carrier that could at least block some of the exhaust flow.
