What you described sounds like chucking. Chucking is the sound you are describing that comes from the moving parts of the hitch. When you start and stop the play moves back and forth and causes the sound you are hearing.

The only real solutions would be to upgrade to a hitch that is cushioned and has a jaw system that provides better king pin contact to reduce movement like the Reese M5 part # RP30928.

Or you can go with a cushioned pin box like a Fifth Airborne. But you would first need to know what pin box you have on your trailer to pick out the correct one. See help article I attached that shows which one works for each pin box.

For a tire replacement the part # LHWL410 would be your best option as it has a speed rating of 75 mph and comes with a 2 year roadside program. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
