Bike Rack With Rise in Shank for 1-1/4 Hitch Receiver

Question:

Hi - Can you please recommend a hitch mount platform 2 bike holder? 1 1/4inch hitch, tilt-able, accommodates a womens Cypress Giant 18inch from the ground without an adapter? Also, our hitch scrapes when we exit our steeply inclined driveway so would that be a problem for the bike rack? Thank you!

With a steep driveway I recommend a bike rack that has a rise in the shank, and for a women's bike a wheel-mounted rack is the best option. You can get both of those features with the Saris SuperClamp EX # SA4025F, which fits a 1-1/4 inch hitch and has a capacity of 60 lbs per bike.

The SuperClamp EX grasps your bikes by the front and back wheels with ratcheting hooks and has adjustable wheel trays so your bikes can have different size wheelbases. This rack can be tilted down, even with the bikes loaded, by using a simple push lever. It also has a shank with a 5 inch rise which should help the rack avoid damage on your driveway.

Additionally, the SuperClamp EX # SA4025F comes with security features, an anti-rattle hitch lock that secures your bike to your hitch, and an integrated steel cable lock to secure your bikes to the rack, protecting your investments.

I've added a link to a video review of this rack for you so you can take a closer look.
