Can the TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box # TLA7710R be Sealed

Question:

Hi, Aside from the entry/exit holes for wiring and the slots in the base of the box which can both likely be sealed fairly easily how water tight or resistant is the box otherwise? For example, does any water flow in between the lid and the box itself? Im considering one of the larger boxes for a battery or two leaving room for a DC-to-DC charger and possibly an inverter, neither of which is IP rated for water protection.

TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box # TLA7710R, if used as a battery box, will have to have some ventilation which means that it isn't going to be completely waterproof. Battery boxes can't be sealed because lead acid, AGM, and Gel batteries produce a combustible gas. There are also some battery chargers that have a warning about using them with proper ventilation.

It will let water in and if you don't seal up the bottom it will let the water right back out again. If you mounted your DC to DC charger and inverter to the underside of the lid then they are much less likely to get wet at all let alone wet enough to damage them.

Or you might consider a different DC to DC charger like the Redarc BCDC charger # 331-BCDC1240D which is fully seal to protect against water, dust, and shock.
