Info Needed to Pick Out Parts to Add Brakes to a Trailer
Question:
I recently purchased an RV that does fine stopping itself, but struggles to stop when Im towing my 6x12 Wells Cargo enclosed trailer with 3 dirtbikes and gear in it. I noticed tonight that there is a backing plate on the axle its a single axle trailer and see from your very well done videos that I can add brakes to my trailer. What information do I need to get off my trailer axle to purchase the correct assembly?

I attached a help article that will walk you through the process, but basically you will need to first determine what spindle your trailer axles have so that you can fit a hub to them and then build the rest of the parts from there. Check out the link I attached to see exactly how this is done. Your trailer having mounting flanges already is a great sign as that's the biggest factor typically.
