Recommended Suspension Enhancement System for 2014 Ford F-150 with 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
I have pulled an 8000 lb fifth wheel with 1000 lb pin weight behind my 2010 F150 7100lb gvw 5.4 using air bags for suspension enhancement and theyve worked great. I recently bought a 2014 F150 ecoboost with also with the 7100 lb gvw and need to set it up. Will the timbren system keep the bed level like air bags? What is your recommendation.

The Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems, such as the Rear Kit # TFR1504D that is confirmed to fit your Ford F-150 if it has 4WD or # TFR1502D if you have 2WD, feature jounce-style springs that will do a really nice job of keeping your truck level under heavy loads. This system, like the air bags on your previous truck, will work great with the pin weight on your trailer to prevent the rear from sagging when connected.
The primary difference you will notice when you go to a jounce-style spring system like this one is your ride quality without the trailer connected. Because there isn't any option to adjust the springs, your ride without a load might just be a tad rougher than you are used to. With that being said, their lack of adjustability does provide a maintenance-free system, one that you can essentially forget about after the initial installation. Unlike your previous air bag system, you won't need to constantly adjust and check pressures when towing or hauling various other loads in the truck.
The Timbren system is compatible with an in-bed fifth-wheel hitch like what you have installed. There is not an air bag system available for your 2014 F-150 that is confirmed work without interferring with fifth-wheel frame brackets.
