Recommended Adapter for Pulling 5th Wheel Trailer with Gooseneck Hitch on 2010 Dodge Ram

Question:

I have a Dodge 2500 with a in bed ball hitch. BandM I think. It has a round fitting for the ball. Do you have an adapter to connect it to the Companion 5th wheel setup? Thanks

The B&W Gooseneck Hitches, such as part # BWGNRK1313 that is confirmed to fit your Dodge Ram, feature a unique square ball hole. If the hitch ball hole on your truck is round, then you likely have a system from a different manufacturer. I may have an option for you, however the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 is only compatible with the B&W Gooseneck Hitches, so it will not fit your existing setup.

You may be able to use the Draw-Tite Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer HItch Adapter # 9480. This hitch will work with Hide-A-Goose (9460, 9464, and 9465) by Draw-Tite or Reese, along with Under-Bed by Bulldog. If this is what you have installed on your truck, this will be a great option. The hitch will drop right into the hitch ball hole and provide you with a fifth-wheel hitch that has an 18,000 pound towing capacity.

Otherwise, another option is to use an adapter that attaches to the trailer's king pin, such as the Conver-A-Ball # CAB-C5G. This cushioned adapter will bolt onto the king pin of your trailer and then connects to the gooseneck ball in your truck. It features a towing capacity of 20,000 pounds.

I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on the products mentioned, along with some links that will take you to our available selection of gooseneck adapters that you can look through.
