Will the Length of Shank of the CURT Weight Distribution System Affect Towing Capacities

Question:

The shank I received moves the hitch ball 6 further away from the vehicle than a standard hitch. Is this OK for stress on the trucks hitch?

Yes, you will be okay using the shank from the CURT Trunnion Weight Distribution System # 17300 that will extend the ball out further than what you are used to. As long as you stay under the towing capacities of your tow vehicle, the hitch and this weight distribution system you will be fine.
