Can Tow Bar Lighting Kit part # RM-154 be Installed on Tow Vehicle with Separate Turn Signals
Question:
I purchased this kit from your company. My motor home has combined brake/turn but my 96 Passat has separate brake, taillight, and turn rather than combined brake and taillights like in the wiring schematics in the installation instructions. Do you have a wiring schematic for my situation?

The great thing about the diode tow bar wiring kits like the part # RM-154 is that you can use them to install on a vehicle with separate taillight circuits and have them operate like combined without it being an issue. Basically what will happen is that what was normally just a stoplight on your vehicle can be wired to blink like a turn signal and illuminate as a stoplight circuit and the vehicle's original wiring won't make a difference.
It's the easiest solution for your setup unless you want to use a converter box like part # 118158 and additional diodes like part # RM-790 to wire it like a separate circuit.
Check out the help article below though for more info on this type of install.
