Troubleshooting Only Some Clearance Lights on Trailer Not Working
Question:
What would make the two middle clearance lights not have power to them. All the other clearance lights work. This is on a 2005 KZ Escalade.

Expert Reply:
If just a couple of the clearance lights on your KZ Escalade aren't working, but the other clearance lights are, this likely points to some kind of ground issue. I recommend making sure that the lights are grounded properly. Depending on their design, they may ground via the mounting hardware or with a dedicated ground wire. In either case, you will want to make sure they are attached to a clean, bare metal surface that is free of any paint, debris, or corrosion.
It's also possible that the bulbs themselves on the lights in question have gone bad and just need to be replaced.
If you still aren't able to resolve the issue, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.
