Connecting the Reverse Light Circuit to a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Question:

where is the purple wire from a 7-pin trailer connected located on the FJ Cruiser 2007 FJ has the 4-pin towing harness already to enable Reverse backup lights on trailer. thanks for any help. my Toyota dealer is useless.

I can tell you how to find the correct wire but unfortunately, I can't tell you which exact wire you need. You should be able to remove the taillights from your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser and use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, and test the wires there to find which one is the reverse light circuit.

I linked a video of when we installed our 7-way adapter kit, part # ETBC7, on a 2013 FJ for you. The video might be helpful however it doesn't show the purple wire being connected because we didn't need it when we installed it.
