Recommended Tailgate Assist for 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 New Body Style

Question:

Does the tailgate assist lower AND assist in lifting as well? Both husband and I have arthritis in our hands and shoulders. If not, what do you have that DOES lower and lift for our 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 new body? thank you in advance.

The DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for Pickup Trucks # DZ43102 is a confirmed fit for your 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 new body. It will help lower your tailgate in a controlled fashion and although not designed to lift, will help slightly with lifting as the shock retracts.

I've attached the instructions for installation to assist. This is the only tailgate assist system confirmed to fit your truck. The Hopkins EasyLift Truck Bed Tailgate Lift Assist # 74211 has not been tested on those newer body styles so it has not been confirmed as a fit. It is possible it might fit and would assist with both raising and lowering if it did.
