2016 Chevy Colorado with Diesel Engine Compatibility With SMI Stay-In-Play Duo Braking System
Question:
hi will you please confirm if this is the correct system for my 2016 Chevy Colorado with diesel engine. I tow with a Ford v10 gasoline engine motorhome. I have read that the diesel Colorado doesnt use vacuum assist brakes so this wont work. I have also read in your question and answers that it will work. Will you please confirm? Thank you

Your 2016 Chevy Colorado Diesel uses the same vacuum lines as the gasoline engine, it just uses an electric vacuum pump. I reached out to my tech contact at Demco/SMI and the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 is absolutely compatible and will even install in the same exact way as the gasoline model. I've attached a video to assist.
