Will The Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Carrier # TH934XTR Fit My Jeep Wrangler
Question:
I was wondering whether or not these hitch racks with fit on a jeep wrangler with the standard size spare tire? I might be shifting to an over sized tire here soon which will be wider of coarse. If this doesnt fit or many hitch models wont what could be a good alternative other than a spare tire mount rack that I really dont want to use.

The Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Carrier # TH934XTR measures 11-7/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright support bar.
You will need to measure from the center of your hitch pin hole out to the farthest edge of your spare tire on your Jeep. If this measurement is less than 11-7/8 inches, the Thule Hitching Post Pro will fit.
If you will be going to a wider sized tire you will want to make sure the bike rack will clear the wider spare. If you multiply the first number in the tire size by .0394, this will give you the width of the tire in inches. For example, 225 multiplied by .0394 equals 8.865 inches.
If you find you won't have enough clearance, you could use a spare tire mounted bike rack like the Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Carrier, part # TH963PRO. This rack will work with tires that are up to 10 inches wide or less.
If you plan to carry womens, childrens, or alternative frame bicycles, I would recommend the Thule Bike Adapter Bar, part # TH982XT. This adapter will allow you to carry those types of bike level.
I have linked a video review for the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Carrier # TH934XTR and the Thule Bike Adapter Bar, part # TH982XT. Also linked is an FAQ on hitch bike racks.
