Replacement Electric Brake Assemblies for 1985 Casita Trailer

Question:

I have a 1985 Casita 13foot travel trailer. I am looking for new electric brakes. It came with electric brakes but the magnet was cut and removed. the current brakes appear to be 7.5inch in diameter and the shaft is 1 1/16inch in diameter. It does have the 4 bolt pattern to attach the hubs. I am not sure what size brakes to get. Any help would be great! I can send pics or get more measurements if needed. Help please!

Most likely, you are needing 7 inch electric brake assemblies for your 1985 Casita Trailer. I recommend verifying this by taking a quick measurement of the inside diameter and depth on your existing drums (see attached picture).

Based on my research, your Casita trailer features a 2,000 pound axle, so I recommend the etrailer.com Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-2. These brake assemblies have a 7 inch diameter, a 1-1/4 inch width, and the same 4 bolt pattern you mentioned on your existing set. Both the Left Hand and Right Hand assemblies are included.
