In order to get the right Weight Distribution (WD) system for your 2012 Ford F-150 towing setup, you will need to know your actual Tongue Weight (TW) when fully loaded and ready to tow. You will also need to include any weight from behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. An easy way to find your tongue weight is to use something like the etrailer Tongue Weight Scale, Item # e99044. As you determine this weight, keep in mind that the TW is 10% to 15% of the total loaded weight of your trailer.

After you have that Tongue Weight (TW) figured out, your ideal WD system will be one where the total TW of your towing setup falls in the middle of the TW range of the WD system.

If the TW of your loaded trailer is 800-lbs to 900-lbs then the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with 4-Point Sway Control, Item # EQ37100ET, will work well for you because it has a TW range of 600-lbs to 1,000-lbs with a maximum gross towing weight of 10,000-lbs.

However, if your fully loaded and ready to tow TW is between 900-lbs to 1,100-lbs then you will need to step up to the Equal-i-zer system, Item # EQ37120ET. Item # EQ37120ET has a TW range of 800-lbs to 1,200-lbs with a maximum gross towing weight of 12,000-lbs.

Both systems include an adjustable head assembly, 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, adjustable shank, and all the hardware needed to install and use the WD system. To make installation of the hitch ball easier, I recommend getting the Vanadium steel 1-7/8 inch 12pt Socket, Item # ALL643216.

I have attached some articles and videos for you to review.
