Will Airbags Work with the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit Part # RP30126 on a 2016 Ford F-250

Question:

I have a 2016 F250 2wd, with gas 6.2L motor. A reese underbody 5th wheel system. Will the 2597 system from firestone work.

The mounting holes that the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2597 uses are covered by the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit part # RP30126 on your 2016 Ford F-250. You could drill a hole in the bracket to allow for the airbags to work but this would also void their warranty. If you will be using this kit on a short bed truck then you are also going to need a relocation bracket like part # F5722.

Instead, I recommend using the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TFR250SDG which will not require any drilling and will also do an excellent job of helping to distribute the weight of your trailer. The Timbren's unlike the Firestone's are also completely maintenance free.
