The LED Light Strip Kit # DG52688 that you referenced is a great option to replace the lights on your patio. You are correct that you can add additional light strips, but that depends on how long they are.

The kit # DG52688 comes with a 16' length of LED lights but can only reach up to a little over 32 ' which means that you can only use one 16' LED Light Strip # DG52680 with it. For your application you would have to use 2 kits and 2 strips.

For a kit that can support up to 66' of LED light strips you will need to use the kit # DG52694. This kit comes with two 16' strips so that you only need to get part # DG52697 for an additional 2 strips. All in all this will give you 1 power/control system and four 16' LED light strips. I confirmed with my contact at Diamond Group that this will work.

what is used to connect all 4 light strips off one supply

Each light strip has a 4-pin male and female connector on either end of it. These simply plug into each other and form a chain.
