The Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack # Y02633 is an excellent option for a trunk mounted bike carrier. This is a confirmed fit for your Audi A3. The overhanging spoiler you are referring to on the sportback models will allow this carrier to work, but you will have the straps putting weight on that part of your vehicle.

A better option for most spoilers is the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 2 Bike Rack for Vehicles w/ Spoilers # HRF2 or the 3 bike option # HRF2-3. This is designed to protect your spoiler and give you the best support. This bike carrier has not been tested on your specific vehicle, but it was not a fit on the 2017 models and most likely not a fit for the 2018 models according to my contact at Hollywood racks. She thinks this has to due with the hinges or frame at the hatch.

The Thule FullBack bike rack does come with all the security features including the trunk security strap and cable lock. I recommend the Softride tie downs # SR54FR to secure the front wheel to the frame of your bike, and if you have any women's, children's, or alternative frame bikes then I recommend the Swagman # 64005.
