Why Does Hayes Syncronizer Brake Controller HA81725 Not Light Up When Pedal is Pressed
Question:
I installed PN 81725 on my Dodge Ram and when I apply brakes the light on controller does not illuminate. When I use the override it illuminates. What may be the problem?

The display on the Hayes Syncronizer Trailer Brake Controller # HA81725 should illuminate both when you press the brake pedal and when you use the manual override lever. If it does not light up when you press the brake pedal then either there is a problem wit the red wire's connection to the brake light circuit or you have the power set so low that the display does not light up.
The controller will apply full power with the manual lever but with the brake pedal it will illuminate only to the power level to which you have it set with the thumbwheel. Try increasing the power level and applying the brakes.
