Troubleshooting Third Brake Light of 2009 Chevy Silverado Powering Headache Rack 3rd Brake Light
Question:
I have a 2009 chevy Silverado. I installed a bed bar which has a third brake light. I have it grounded to the frame. And I have the power hooked up to the orange chmsl wire under the dash. The third brake light still wont light up. Is there anything else Im missing that I need to do to make it work or should I check my connections?

I'd check the connections as that's most likely the problem. You can also try running a jumper wire to a 12 volt power source and ground like a battery to make sure the problem is wiring and not related to the light or bulb.
Also, I'd recommend verifying the fuse of the CHMSL is good as they are pretty easy to blow in your generation of 2009 Chevy Silverado.
