Troubleshooting Trailer Landing Gear that Clicks As it Get Near Full Extension
Question:
1RV-200 landing gear motor. I have this motor in my 2009 40ft tri axle toy hauler. Everything seems to go good until I have almost all the weight off the truck then the motor clicks and wont go up anymore! I took the gear box apart and the gears on the electric motor apart all look good and move freely. So Im thinking its the electric motor what would you say? Also whats this motor rated at and is there one a little bigger thatd do the job a little easier or not? Thanks much

Expert Reply:
It could be that after the motor is ran for a while it starts to get hot which then diminishes the power of it and after a certain point just stops working. Typically when we hear about situations like this the problem is actually a weak battery or weak connections to it.
