Compatibility of Curt Multi-Ball Mount # 45650 for Trailer with 2 Inch Coupler
Question:
Car: 2013 Toyota Highlander, Limited V6 Factory installed tow package Purchased the Curt 3 way ball hitch in black part # C45650 Weve just purchased the new NoBo 16.5 trailer and the dealer is saying the Hitch ball needs to be a 2inch x 1 1/4inch shank to work on the new hitch. I cant find any numbers referencing the 1.25inch shank on this model. Do you guys know if this model has the 1.25inch shank? Do have literature you can share with me that states the shank dimensions? Thank you for your help.

Expert Reply:
The Curt Multi-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - Solid, Black Powder Coated Shank # C45650 has all three standard size hitch balls (including the 2 inch ball you need) welded to the shank. There is not a shank on the hitch ball on this ball mount, but that 2 inch ball is rated for 7,500 lbs towing and 750 lbs tongue weight.
Your new Forest River No Boundaries trailer (NoBo) will not have any issues towing with that ball mount behind your 2013 Toyota Highlander with tow package. I can only assume your dealer is trying to keep you safe, but rest assured this ball mount will be safe.
