How Many Rubber Bumpers are Normally on a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Head
Question:
how many bumpers are on a reese 5th wheel hitch? The hitch I bought today is like the BandW companion hitch and was made in 1998, it is 15K. When I took it apart it only had 1 bumper on it. The bumper is part number 30536.

On Reese models, for example, there are usually 2 bumpers. They can be placed in a couple of different positions. They are used to prevent the the head from contacting the hitch body abruptly which could damage it. Some hitches have additional holes so the bumpers can be moved. If your hitch only has one hole and a bumper in it, then it only requires one.
The bumpers are usually located in the rear most holes (towards the back of the truck) since when coupling, the head is tilted forward.
