Will a Surco Safari Rack 5.0 Rooftop Cargo Basket Fit a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I am looking to purchase a Car top tent weighing 250 # . I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2005. Would the Surco Safari Rack 5.O Rooftop Basket 50 inch w x 84 inch long work for me? If so , where would be the closes company I could have it installed? Thank you

The Surco Safari Rack 5.0 Rooftop Cargo Baskets like part # SPS5084-1101 for factory raised rails does have a weight capacity of 250 lbs so it would be a great option to hold the tent on top of your 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

You do want to check the weight capacity of both your Grand Cherokee and your roof rack. Most of our roof racks have a weight capacity of 165 lbs. Even if the basket can handle 250 lbs, since the roof rack is rated lower at 165 lbs it would be the limiting factor.

We don't have any preferred installation locations, but you should be able to do it yourself if you don't have a place that you trust. I am attaching a review video that you can check out for more information.
