Recommendation For A Roof Rack For 2004 Ford Excursion To Carry 2 Kayaks

Question:

Also, some additional information about the kayaks. We are probably going to purchase 2 Perception Access 115. Will we need something additional due to the length?

We carry roof racks for your 2004 Ford Excursion as long as you have the factory tracks that run front to back on the roof. I recommend the Thule SquareBar Roof Rack: 53 inch SquareBars (Item # TH712400), Rapid Podium Foot Pack (Item # TH460R), and Podium Style Fit Kit (Item # THKIT3101).

For a carrier for your 2 kayaks, I recommend the Thule Stacker, Item # TH830, because it is designed specifically for carrying multiple kayaks. It can also hold up to 4 kayaks so you have expansion potential.

I also encourage you check your owner's manual for roof weight capacities to make sure safe and secure transporting.

I have attached videos for you to check out.

Great question! If the kayaks will be longer than 10 feet then I recommend the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier for 1 or 2 Kayaks, Item # Y04073. The JayLow works with round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars. It has tie-down straps for one kayak but for more use item # Y04031. The JayLow has a weight capacity of 80 lbs for 1 kayak and 110 lbs for two kayaks. I also recommend adding the Same Key System lockable cores, Item # Y07202, to provide security. I have attached some videos for you to review.
