If you are replacing the 6-Way round, like part # PK11604, on your 5th wheel hitch then it is a simple matter of testing your wires to figure out which wires need to be for which function.
I have attached a photo which shows how a typical 6-Way is wired. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 to test the functions on the 6-Way of your vehicle to make sure they match up though.
To test the functions on your trailer you need to use a 12V battery, like what you have in your vehicle, and apply the power from the positive terminal to your various wires after grounding the negative terminal. When you apply power to each wire you should see a different function on your trailer light up or activate. This then let's you know what the function is for so that you can match it up with the correct pin.
