Difference Between Adarac Aluminum # A4001234 and Pro Series # A4000964 Ladder Racks

Question:

I was wondering what the difference between A4001234 and A4000964 is? The pro series does have a different shape, however it appears both are rated for 500 pounds. 2014 F-150 5.5inch box with roll up tonneau cover. We are looking to carry two fishing kayaks. In order to pull into garage we would need to remove this at the end of each trip, is one of these models easier to slide the uprights out of the back of the channel than the other? Thank you

Both the Adarac Aluminum Series Ladder Rack # A4001234 and the Adarac Pro Series # A4000964 that you referenced in your question are confirmed to fit your 2014 Ford F-150 with the 5-1/2 foot bed. Both ladder racks will work well with your roll-up tonneau cover, as long as it installs inside the bed rails.

The only real difference between the two models is the design of the uprights, as you mentioned. The Aluminum # A4001234 features a more contoured upright that is designed to match the shape of the truck's cab, while the Pro Series # A4000964 is just a straight up and down upright. The Pro Series is better suited to work with hard, folding tonneau covers since the uprights don't angle in toward the bed. Since either design works fine with soft roll-up covers, the style you choose will simply be a matter of preference. Both allow for the same easy adjustability and removal of the uprights when needed, so you won't have any issue taking them off before entering your garage.

I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these racks that you can also check out.
