Question:
I would like to covnvert my old surge brake trailer to purely electric brakes. The trailer I bought has a very old surge brake system that would probably cost more to repair than start over. Included are pictures of siZes for the system. The drums are 10in

We can definetely help as it looks like you have a standard 4 bolt brake assembly flange 10 inch brake assembly. We have the kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA which comes with left and right hand assemblies for a 3,500 lb axle like what you most likely have. These are self-adjusting as well too.
I attached a help article that is a guide for adding electric brakes to a trailer for you to check out as well. You'll also need a brake controller as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.
