B and W Patriot Hitch and Rail Kit for Use With Sidewinder Pin Box in 2017 Ford F-250
Question:
I installed a BandW companion slider fifth wheel hitch with the single point attachment in my 2017 F-250 since it did not have the factory set up. I didn’t realize the compatibility issue with my older Airborne Sidewinder. I saw the recommendation to lock out the Sidewinder but my older model doesn’t have the holes for installing the lock out bolts. Are there any options besides replacing the pin box to either lock down the Sidewinder or stabilize the hitch in the bed? If not what replacement pin box would you recommend. I love the added comfort and ride that the Sidewinder provides, as well as the clearance and maneuverability. Thanks

You have two options, but basically both aren't easy ones. You'll either have to swap out the pin box of the trailer to go to a standard one which will cost you the automatic clearance and cushioning. Or you'll have to go with a new rail kit and hitch that is compatible with the Sidewinder. This would probably be your best option since you said you love your Sidewinder.
Best option would be the Reese rail kit part # RP50074-58 which is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Ford F-250 and then the B and W Patriot # BWRVK3255 which is very similar to the Companion except designed to fit the above bed style rails. The correct Sidewinder wedge would then be the # SWW-06.
