Can a Bike Rack be Installed on the Trailer Side of the Bike Bunk # CC-275 for Clearance

Question:

Thanks Jon, is there a spec sheet or anything that shows dimensions? I have 30# propane tanks and I want to establish if there is clearance etc

Your idea for the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk # CC-275 is a great one, the only problem is that even some of our smallest bike racks stick out past the 16-1/2" of clearance that you are looking for. I may have another solution for you though.

Check out the Lippert Jack-It # LC429756 that can hold up to 2 bikes weighing 40 lbs each. This bike rack installs on an A-frame trailer and fits around jacks with up to 2-1/4" outer tube diameter and 22-1/2" clearance. Since this bike rack holds bikes by their wheels it can work with a wide variety of bikes frames. Please be mindful that this option will really only work if you have an electric jack or a sidewind jack.

If you would like to add some security for your bikes then I recommend using the Cable Lock # e98891.

We don't have a spec sheet, but I did go and measure the bike rack # LC429756 so that you can see if it is compatible with the 30 lb propane tanks and if it will fit with your current jack. The inside of the mounting posts measures 7-3/8" wide while the height to the top bracket measures 24-3/4" tall. From the mounting point to that receiver that sits inside the posts is 22-1/2". The far edge of the bike rack sits about 11" away and 29-1/4" high from the center of the jack mounting hole. The edge of the farthest wheel cradle sits 17-1/2" away and 61-3/4" high from the center of the jack mounting hole. I have attached some pictures with these specs on them for you to check out.
