How to Wire a Draw-Tite Act Trailer Brake Controller on a 2003 Toyota Tundra
Question:
My factory adaptor has 5 wires one for fused battery feed. one for headlamp switch. one for stop lights input. One for trailer ground and one for trailer brake feed from brake controller output. The Drawtite Activator has only 4 wires. How do I wire this?

I would be happy to explain how to wire the Draw-Tite Act Brake Controller, 5504, to your vehicle. The wiring functions you have given are very helpful. To be sure they are labeled correctly, you can always test them with a test light # PTW2993.
On the brake controller black is for 12-volt power, white is ground, red connects to stop light switch, and blue is output to trailer brakes.
On your 2003 Toyota Tundra, the fused battery wire connects to the brake controller black wire. The wire for trailer ground connects to the brake controller white wire. The wire for stop light inputs connects to the brake controller red wire. And the trailer brake feed wire connects to the blue wire on the brake controller.
The remaining wire is not needed so you can tape it up and stow it out of the way. I have included a link to the installation details for the brake controller for reference.
