Fifth Wheel Installation Kit For RBW Lil Rocker Fifth Wheel Hitch On 2015 Toyota Tundra

Question:

Hi Folks! I acquired an RBW Li’l Rocket fifth-wheel hitch 15,000. I have the head and the rails but nothing that would need to go underneath. I have a 2015 Toyota Tundra SR5 with a 6.5’ bed 4WD off road. Am I screwed or is there a way to install this hitch on this truck? I can probably handle this if I had some decent instructions or a video to watch. I’m worried because I saw somewhere about the head needing to be so far back from the cab - more than the three feet that I have. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Congratulations on the acquisition of your RBW Lil' Rocker Fifth Wheel Hitch. The brackets and hardware are no longer available from RBW because the company is defunct. I will recommend universal parts that are a fit for both your truck and your hitch.

The best option is the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Toyota Tundra # C16468-204, the installation time is cut in half, compared with universal bracket systems.

This kit is made specifically for your truck. The brackets mount to the existing holes of your truck's frame which makes installation a lot easier and faster. Once installed the rails are universal and should work just fine with your Lil Rocker because it fits into industry standard rails.

The installation instructions for both kits are attached for you. We don't have a video available that shows this install on the 2015 Toyota Tundra, however it shows installs on other vehicles that may be helpful for you.

Since you have a 6 1/2 foot bed, you may want to be very careful about turning clearance. When you are towing a fifth wheel trailer on the highway, the trailer king pin must be between the cab of the truck and the rear axle. This makes maneuvering a trailer around narrow places with a short-bed truck very difficult. The greater space between the cab and the trailer allows for greater turning clearance. (see help article) A sliding hitch like # C16521 will give you more clearance. I'm just recommending this so you won't run into any trouble when making turns and most of all we want you to have a safe tow.

If you need a wring harness, # 50-97-410 is the recommended part.
