Availability of Trailer Hub that Has Capacity of 4 Tonnes

im trying to find the proper sizes to carry 4 tonnes on a single axle using stub axles. can you help?

Expert Reply:
4 tonnes equals 8,818 lbs so you'd want hubs that have at least a 9k capacity. We have the Dexter Trailer Hub part # 8-288-3UC1 which is designed for 9k and 10k Dexter axles which would work for you from a weight capacity point of view. The spindle on your trailer would have to be rated for this weight and would need to have the dimensions of the number 42 spindle which would have a seal diameter of 2.875 inch, inner bearing of 2.25 inch, and outer bearing diameter of 1.75 inch.
